As I have discovered a lot of nice places, where to go shopping in Bangkok, I want to share this with you. In part 1 I will present you my favourite street shops and markets, part 2 will be my favourite shopping centers. ♥ Enjoy!
My absolute favourite was the Chatuchak weekend market. On this huge market, who is only up on weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can find whatever you were always looking for, or whatever you didn’t even know that it exists. Plants, furniture, dishes, jewellery, garments…Everything you can find there. The market is so big, that it is evident to check the map before you start.
My favourite section in the market was the section 3. This is the young designers section with garments and jewels offered in small collections from young designers. To see the different collections and the little stores has inspired me a lot. But have a look by yourself.
One jewellery labels which inspired me a lot was defy / LABYRINTH. I have heard already from them before, as they are also available in stores in Switzerland. But it was nice to get to know them and see what different range they have in their store.
I liked the brass chain with the folded airplane very much.
Another place which you should not miss, is the Siam Square street and Soi 1-6. These are small roads, where you can walk around and find shops from established and young designers from Thailand.
Beside the inspiring and sometimes crazy collections, they have great interior concepts in the stores. If you ever start a store in Switzerland, then you should have a look first there to see what is possible to do.
